 FAQs

  • After nearly a decade in the industry we’ve learned what we really love, what we each do best, and what direction we’d like to go.

As we’ve executed larger scale weddings , Summer thrives in casting an overall vision and to digging into the details of larger events. So adding design offerings was an easy next step.

We also understand that there is a great need for stunning but a bit more budget friendly florals. Amy Scherr will be fielding these inquiries and take the lead on working

  • We offer two entry points for your floral investment. However, each floral proposal is constructed with many considerations . Choice of blooms, quantities, availability, vases, candles, scale, design and style. We don’t have set prices for those reasons.

  • Glad you asked!

Not only have wholesale prices gone up significantly over the last few years there is so much that goes into getting them at their very best for each event.

    Things to consider-

    • What flowers do well in heat?

    • What flowers can survive out of water (if the design requires that), or must have water vs. foam?

    • What flowers fit the vibe, texture, color, size and shape?

After the design has been conceived, then we spend hours sourcing through a variety of wholesalers getting the right blooms and ordering back up blooms in case some don’t make it.

Once we have the flowers we spend a day processing which means getting them properly hydrating so they will be at their peak for each event.

We must prepare all vessels with structures to hold flowers from pin frogs , chicken wire or foam. The design portion takes anywhere from 2 to 4 days and often requires multiple designers.

On event day, typically a truck is rented , then everything meticulously packed and loaded.

At the event, flowers need watered and “fluffed” as traveling is hard on them. Then the finished pieces are set and often times we have onsite installations to build.

This requires more people and specialized structures (or mechanics) , as we have limited time to get them done .

Lastly- we are artists. We do not do cookie cutter creations.

  • Yes, but at minimum ,(for ease of day), hire a “Day of coordinator” If details and a cohesive overall aesthetic are important to you, hire a planner. Checkout our “Design” page if you’d like to see what we offer.

  • We include all rentals , (vases, candles, arbor structures, etc). Design , labor, transporting, truck rentals, setting up, and breaking down.

  • Short answer - no

We have allowed this in the past and learned many hard lessons. They rarely mix well with our designs and we cannot post photographs of your wedding with DIY pieces mixed in.

  • Floral inquiries typically start with a phone call. We work up a proposal then once that is submitted, the client has one week to make a decision. A deposit secures your date. We communicate throughout the period leading up to the event as we are happy to work through aesthetic changes, etc. We do a 6 week out final call to go over numbers and solidify details.

If you’re inquiring about design and florals, I prefer a face to face meeting and the process leading up is more involved but the same structure.
